Pilot National Solo Dance Championship

The 2009 National Solo Dance Championships, a pilot competition for skaters who wish to participate in a national ice dancing competition without a partner, will be held in conjunction with the Pikes Peak Classic for Pairs and Dance, hosted by the Broadmoor Skating Club, on Sept. 26-27, 2009, at the Colorado Springs World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo.The National Solo Dance Championships (NSDC) is a new event, the goal of which is to establish a national competitive event for solo ice dancing. The NSDC welcomes competitors from all walks of skating, including synchronized, adult, Theater on Ice and collegiate.Please see the Announcement for more info.

Ice Crystals Skate in Chicago

Congrats to the Ice Crystals who skated at the National Theater on Ice Competition in Chicago this weekend. They came in 9th in the Choreographic Exercise & 11th in the Free Skate!

Collegiate Championships

The 2009 US Collegiate Championships will be held July 31st-Aug 2nd in Philadelphia. In addition to the Junior and Senior events, Novice events have been added. The announcement is available at http://www.pschs.org/

Coaching Requirements

A reminder that coaches must have at least a category B membership to put skaters on at test sessions and non-qualifying competitions. For qualifying competitions, coaches must have a category A membership. Please see the US Figure Skating Rulebook for more information.
