Officials
Welcome to our page for officialsWhether you are already an official, want to be one, or want to understand what officials do, this is the place to check out!
The U.S. Figure Skating Technical Panel Committee (TPC) will be hosting a National Technical Panel Seminar in Colorado Springs , Colo. , May 24-26, 2010. This seminar is being hosted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so as to allow people to attend this seminar and the PSA International Conference, without the two events conflicting. One is not required to attend the PSA Conference in order to attend the National Technical Panel Seminar.
The National Technical Panel Seminar will offer training in singles, pairs and dance to technical specialists, technical controllers and data operators. Those seeking their first certification as well as those already certified and seeking advancement , who have been approved to test by their sectional vice chair (SVC) can attend for $125. Those who aren’t interested in getting certified but want to learn more about the system can attend the seminar as observers for a reduced rate of $75. And athletes who competed at the 2010 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships who want to observe can attend for only $25.
Additionally, those currently holding a certification who don’t meet the criteria for advancement but need activity or just want the opportunity to practice and learn can attend the seminar at the full rate of $125. This opportunity allows one to participate in rotations, take the written exam for practice and receive credit for one nonqualifying competition and five segments toward their next appointment. This is a great opportunity to work on the areas where you may need improvement and get practice with members of the peer review group.
For more information and/or to apply, please visit the Technical Controllers / Specialists page on the U.S. Figure Skating web site.
Don’t wait too long, as the deadline to register is Sunday, May 2.
