How to Volunteer with the Club
Volunteer Hours UpdateThe following skating families have met their 2008-2009(Jul-Jun) minimum 10 hours volunteer requirement. Most of these folks have given us way more than ten hours. Thank you so much- we couldn't do it without you! If we missed your contribution, please let us know what we left out by sending us an e-mail. If you have hours yet to contribute, please take a look at the descriptions below. We still have lots of opportunities to help out this year!

DESCRIPTION OF VOLUNTEER ROLES
Competitions- Before the Competition:
Awards Purchases awards (medals/ribbons/trophies)
Credentials Prints and makes credentials for skaters, coaches, officials and volunteers
Facilities - Help with the setup, tear down, and storage of the competition equipment.
Gifts- Purchases, wraps, and tags gifts for competitors, officials and/or volunteers.
Practice Ice Scheduling- Processes practice ice requests,prepares schedule.
Program design/Printing Help with the design, layout and printing of programs.
Registrar- Recieves and processes entries
Sponsors/Advertising Source sponsors and advertising for the competitions and programs.
Volunteers Coordinator Work with committee chairs to fill all volunteer positions by emailing and contacting club members and other potential volunteers.
Competitions-During the Competition:
Accounting Room- Tabulates results for events
Announcing Work with music people to keep the competition going, announce skaters taking the ice.
Hospitality Help by catering, donating or stocking and serving food for the judges and coaches/volunteer areas.
Ice Monitors Monitor all skaters entering the ice for practice ice, warm up and competition.
Medical Provide medical treatment to skaters during the competition
Music Coordinator- Sets up sound system and/or plays music during competition
Practice Ice Similar to registration, check in arriving skaters for practice ice, manage music drop off and pick up, answer general questions.
Registration Check in arriving skaters for competition, manage music drop off and pick up, answer general questions.
Runner Running music to and from registration/practice ice desk to music stations. Also running judge sheets from judges to official accountants room and posting final results.
Spotlight Run the spotlight during showcase competitions only.
Transportation - Picking up judges from the airport and transporting judges and officials between hotel and competition venue.
Competitions- Requires US Figure Skating certification prior to volunteering
Judge Evaluates quality of performances
Technical Panel Evaluates level of difficulty of skating elements
Other club volunteer activities
CCIA representative- attend CCIA meetings to represent PSC
Event coordinator- coordinate a party, pizza night, parent meeting, educational session, etc
Recognition- develop and run recognition program for skaters and volunteers
Test Chair- Plan, run, and record tests.
Test session hospitality- coordinate food and beverages for a test session
